Among the most familiar songs are “YELL” from Ikimonogakari which was selected for the primary schools category in 2009 and Angela Aki’s “Tegami” on 2008.

This year’s song was “Akashi” by Flumpool. The arrangement was made by a recognized classical composer.

The theme choosen for next year’s contest is “Light” and YUI has been selected to compose the song for middle schools category!

YUI has completed her new song. The title is Green a.live. A song that has a strong message, “To live within nature”.
This song is the first written by YUI after 3.11. (HELLO ~Paradise Kiss~ was written before Tohoku Earthquake).

YUI’s reason,
The new song’s title 『Green a.live』 includes the meaning “To live within nature”. Sometimes I wonder if I might have forgot something important while living inside the city. While making this song, 『Green a.live』 I began to think about destiny.

She said.

Similarly, Inside the lyrics of the song, current YUI’s feelings are included, it will strongly shake the heart of the listener.
YUI herself, went to visit the stricken area of Minamisanriku-cho and Kesennuma on 7/7 and she visited a local elementary school, a junior high school, and senior high school, then held acoustic lives

In addition, She performed charity activity by having live performance of her own. She want you to feel her real thoughts from her new song.
YUI has sublimed her current feelings on this work. As one song of this year, it became an musical work that will be appreciated among fans.

YUIいわく、

Today CDJapan confirmed the information, but the status of the release date appears “postponed”

My guess is they are waiting for YUI’s concert in Hong Kong to make the information public. The new heartrending song might be played that day.
Hopefuly they will start promoting as soon as the concert is over, since Scandal, Stereopony, ZONE and other artists have already confirmed their releases for the same date, the race already started.

Based on what we have seen in YUI-net and dokutubo, the second song of this single is in process and should be finished soon.
Can we expect some footage of YUI’s visit to Hong Kong in this next release? Maybe even some shooting from the concert? We know they recorded everything, but can we trust Sony after the low quality of HELLO limited edition DVD?

YUI has been assigned to write the theme song of the movie Paradise Kiss, starred by Kitakawa Keiko.

Two songs have been written. The opening song 「HELLO~Paradise Kiss~」 and the ending, 「YOU」.

When the popular manga of Ai Yazawa (NANA) was adapted to a live action movie, YUI, being a fan of the original work, commented “The melody came to me smoothly. I have completed a song full of hope.”

The songs were played in the recording set. Kitakawa, who plays the part of the heroine, Yukari, said: “The songs have the image of the time when a girl is starting to love someone, so I used them several times as reference to play Yukari.”

Mukai Osamu, who plays the character who becomes the love companion of Yukari, George Koizumi, said “I think this songs will help young people to go towards their dreams”

YUI have written 6 songs for movies.

The single is scheduled to be released on June 1st
The movie is due for release in Japan on June 4th.
